20 years after mass shootings, survivors revive the push for federal assault weapons ban

It's been almost two decades since the federal assault weapons ban expired. Following the recent mass shooting in Kansas City, survivors are supporting the Go Safe Act, aiming to ban gas powered semi-automatic firearms and large-capacity magazines.

Support for Go Safe Act

Mass shooting survivors and families are urging lawmakers to back the Go Safe Act, sponsored by Senator Martin Heinrich, to address the dangers posed by semi-automatic weapons. The legislation is supported by the nonpartisan group March Fourth and advocates for reinstating the federal assault weapons ban.

The recent mass shooting has reignited the push for legislative action to address the proliferation of semi-automatic firearms.
