
70-Year-Old Man Arrested for Impersonating Officer with Fake Badge and Emergency Lights
A 70-year-old man in Riverside County was arrested for impersonating a law enforcement officer and conducting unauthorized traffic stops using a fake badge and emergency lights.

On Thursday, Riverside County sheriff's deputies arrested a 70-year-old man, Steven Sawhill, for allegedly impersonating a law enforcement officer in Canyon Lake, near Lake Elsinore.

According to witnesses, the man was driving a white Ford Crown Victoria and was conducting traffic stops using emergency lights. He reportedly showed a fake badge with the words "agent" and "California" to unsuspecting drivers.
Arrest and Charges
Deputies located the suspect's car and arrested Sawhill on suspicion of impersonating a peace officer, false imprisonment, and vehicle code violations related to the unauthorized use of emergency lights on the vehicle.
Additional Charges and Investigation
