Abducted 10-Month-Old Girl Found Alive After Mother and Another Woman Shot Dead in New Mexico
Abducted 10-month-old found alive, suspect in custody after mother and woman shot dead in New Mexico park.
On May 6, authorities reported that a 10-month-old girl, Eleia Maria Torres, was found safe after being abducted in New Mexico. This news follows the tragic discovery of her mother and another woman, who were found shot dead in a park last week. The Clovis Police Department released a statement on Monday morning, announcing that the baby had been located and taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure. In addition, a suspect is now in custody in connection with the case, although no further details were provided at that time.
Law Enforcement Response
The incident unfolded when officers from the Clovis Police Department responded to Ned Houk Park at 700 County Road 17 near Clovis. Upon arrival, they found two deceased women, identified as 23-year-old Samantha Cisneros and 23-year-old Taryn Allen. In addition, a 5-year-old girl was discovered nearby with a gunshot wound to the head and was subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment. The condition of the injured child was not immediately available.
Concern for Another Child
Worries about the presence of another child arose when officers located an infant car seat, stroller, and baby bottle at the scene. Subsequently, family members informed the authorities that Samantha Cisneros was the mother of the injured 5-year-old girl and the abducted 10-month-old, Eleia. Following this information, an Amber Alert was issued for the missing child, and law enforcement officials strongly suspected that Eleia was taken by the individual responsible for the tragic events.
