The remains of Kelly Paduchowski, a 45-year-old woman reported missing by her husband, have been found by the Flagstaff Police Department on Friday at around 10:00 a.m. The discovery comes after nearly a week-long investigation into her disappearance.
Husband Arrested in Connection to Disappearance
Daniel Paduchowski, 58, reported his wife missing after she failed to return home on the evening of June 30, following a jog and swim. Subsequently, Daniel Paduchowski, the husband of Kelly Paduchowski whose body was found, was arrested in connection to her disappearance.
Investigative Efforts & Timeline
Cellphone data from Kelly's phone showed activity near the Schultz Creek Trailhead at around 10:20 a.m. on the day she went missing. Daniel was seen in the same area around 11:30 a.m. the same day. Later, Kelly Paduchowski's white Mazda CX-5 and Daniel were sighted at Campbell Mesa trailhead around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 30.
Assault Evidence & Belief of Homicide
Throughout the investigation, evidence was gathered that indicated Daniel had assaulted Kelly. Based on this and other information, police had strong suspicions that Kelly might be the victim of a homicide.
