An autopsy report obtained from the Los Angelesnbspmedical examiner has suggested that Mei Li Haskell may have still been alive at the time of her decapitation The report indicated that although there was no definitive indication that the dismemberment occurred before her death the possibility that the head and neck removal was initiated prior to her demise cannot be entirely excluded It was also noted that a sharp powered tool was likely used in the amputations from the body

Moving back to the timeline of events Mei Li Haskell and her parents were last seen on or around November 6th The next day Sam Haskell Mei Lis husband reportedly tasked day laborers with the disposal of garbage bags which were later found to contain body parts Subsequently Mei Li Haskells torso was discovered in a dumpster with security footage capturing her husband disposing of something in the same area
Arrest and Legal Proceedings
An investigation led law enforcement to Sam Haskells residence in the Tarzana neighborhood where he was apprehended and subsequently held on a 2 million bail Earlier this year he pleaded not guilty to three counts of murder including that of Mei Li Haskell and her missing parents The bodies of Mei Li Haskells parents have yet to be recovered however the investigation remains ongoing
