Prosecutors claim that for almost ten years, Dominique Pelicot drugged his wife, Gisèle, aged 71, to carry out the rapes. He has admitted guilt to all charges, including aggravated rape and drugging.
Testimony and Regret
During the trial on September 17, Dominque Pelicot offered his testimony for the first time. He expressed remorse, stating, "She didn't deserve this, I recognize that," while addressing his wife, who gazed at him. "I regret what I did and ask for forgiveness, even if it is unforgivable," he added.
Gisèle Pelicot has stated that she does not recollect the incidents, but has been experiencing frightening, unexplained symptoms over the years.
