Barron Trump chosen as Florida delegate for Republican National Convention, along with other Trump family members. Convention set for July 15-18.
On a list released by the Florida Republican Party on Wednesday, May 8, Barron Trump, the 18-year-old son of former President Donald Trump and former first lady Melania Trump, was named as a Florida delegate to the upcoming Republican National Convention. This selection also included his brothers Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, along with sister Tiffany Trump.
Besides Barron Trump, the list of at-large delegates also featured Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Trump Jr.'s fiancée, and Michael Boulos, Tiffany's husband. Eric Trump will assume the role of delegation chair during the convention, scheduled to take place from July 15 through July 18 in Milwaukee.
Recent Events and Permissions
Former President Donald Trump's recent days have been marked by his New York "hush money" trial. However, the judge overseeing the case granted him permission to attend Barron Trump's high school graduation, set for May 17. Additionally, both attended the funeral of former first lady Melania Trump's mother, Amalija Knavs, at Bethesda-by-the-Sea Church in Palm Beach, Florida, on Jan. 18, 2024.
Following the acquisition of enough delegates in mid-March, Trump secured the Republican nomination. The Florida Republican Party faced turmoil in December, with the suspension and eventual ouster of its then-chairman, Christian Ziegler, who was accused of sexual assault. He was replaced by Evan Power, who expressed appreciation for the coordinated efforts of grassroots leaders, elected officials, and members of the Trump family in a statement released Wednesday.
