
Brawl Intensifies in Florida: Police Call for Backup as 50 People Involved

In the early hours of Saturday, on the 12th of March, 2022, Bunnell, Florida, was the scene of a chaotic brawl involving over 50 individuals. The situation became so intense that the Bunnell Police Department found it necessary to seek assistance from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office to regain control.
Disturbance Escalation
Prior to the arrival of the deputies, the Bunnell police initially responded to a verbal disturbance among a large group of people. Following an arrest, the situation rapidly escalated, with 50 to 60 individuals reportedly engaging in physical altercations amongst themselves and with the law enforcement officers. During this turmoil, a deputy was pushed and another was punched, although thankfully, neither sustained severe injuries.
Arrests and Charges
Following the brawl, a total of six individuals were arrested. Five of them faced charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, while the sixth individual was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer.
Law Enforcement Response
Sheriff Rick Staly of the Flagler County Sheriff's Office emphasized the precariousness of situations where citizens impede law enforcement efforts, underscoring the potential danger it poses to everyone involved. He remarked, "What should have been a simple investigation into a disturbance turned violent in a matter of minutes. Fortunately, our men and women are well-trained to quickly diffuse this situation."
