California police chase ends in arrest of parolee who stole $900 in LEGO sets

A parolee in California stole $900 worth of LEGO sets from a store, leading the police on a car chase before being arrested, authorities reported.
The incident took place in Vallejo, a San Francisco suburb, after store employees called the police to report a burglary in the area. The thief took the LEGO toys and fled in a Hyundai Sonata with a stolen license plate.
The car chase
The police attempted to stop the vehicle, leading to an 11-mile chase during which a male passenger jumped out of the moving car. The pursuit ended when the driver crashed into a retaining wall, and both suspects were apprehended.
Arrest warrants and confession
The thief was found to have outstanding arrest warrants for grand theft and a traffic-related offense, while the passenger was apprehended later with the help of a resident's tip. The thief later confessed to stealing and selling the LEGO sets and was found to be on parole for possessing a stolen vehicle.
