Candidate Refuses to Participate in Debates Without Specific Opponent

A presidential candidate from the Republican party has declared that she will not take part in any future debates unless either of the leading candidates, Donald Trump or Joe Biden, is present. The candidate expressed disappointment over Trump's absence in the previous debates, asserting that he can no longer avoid them. Two debates are scheduled before the New Hampshire primary, with hosting duties falling to ABC News partnered with WMUR-TV and CNN. The candidate's insistence on facing Trump in a debate follows her third-place finish in the Iowa caucuses, where Trump emerged as the clear favorite and another candidate secured the second position. While the second-place candidate has confirmed participation in the CNN debate, Trump has a prior commitment to hold a rally in New Hampshire. Nevertheless, the second-place candidate accused the Republican candidate of evading tough questions and insinuated her ambition to become Trump's running mate. In response, the Republican candidate proposed that the primary has become a competition between herself and Trump.
