A repo man faced a life-threatening situation when a police officer, behind on his car payments, attacked him at a shopping center in Palembang, Indonesia on March 23. Video footage of the incident, which went viral, horrified viewers.
Unpaid Car Payments and Fake License Plate
The police officer had reportedly not made payments on his Toyota Avanza since 2022 and had gone to the extent of disguising the car with a fake license plate to evade repossession.
Violent Confrontation
The officer first threatened the repo man with a handgun, firing a shot narrowly missing him. Subsequently, he proceeded to attack the repo man with a knife, inflicting serious stab wounds to the victim's shoulders and arms.
Recovery and Pursuit
The repo man is currently recuperating in a hospital, while the police officer is evading his colleagues who are pursuing him. His knowledge of police procedures may enable him to evade capture for some time.
