Michael Keeney, chairman of the Board of Commissioners for Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority, expressed enthusiasm for the new flight, stating that Delta's expansion of service at MEM would greatly benefit passengers by offering them nonstop connectivity to Austin. The addition of this flight marks an important milestone in strengthening air travel links between the two cities.
Delta will operate the Memphis to Austin route using a 76-seat Embraer 175 aircraft, ensuring a comfortable travel experience for passengers. The introduction of the Austin flight brings Delta's total number of destinations at MEM to eight, joining other popular routes including Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York (LGA), and Salt Lake City.
