According to the FAA the incident involved Delta Air Lines Flight 1460 and Flight 1104 Flight 1460 was preparing to fly from Minneapolis to West Palm Beach Florida while Flight 1104 was on its way to Tucson Arizona
The FAA stated Delta Air Lines Flight 1460 was taxiing when its wingtip struck Delta Air Lines Flight 1104 which was pushing back from its gate at MinneapolisSaint Paul International Airport around 1045 am
Impact on Flights
As a result of the incident Flight 1104 arrived in Tucson more than four hours later than scheduled while Flight 1460 reached West Palm Beach with a delay of over three hours
Apology from Delta Air Lines
Delta Air Lines issued an apology to its customers for the delay in their travels stating that the flight had been traveling at a low speed when the wingtip contact occurred The airlines spokesperson assured that Delta teams worked to reaccommodate the affected customers to their final destinations
