Last week, in Dover, a man and a woman were taken into custody following a police investigation that uncovered a significant amount of illegal drugs and firearms at an unlicensed day care they were running. The suspects, Cameron Christmas and Jessica Cooper, were found in possession of a large quantity of cocaine, crack, heroin, and firearms at their residence, which was also being operated as a day care center. During the investigation, law enforcement officers seized a substantial amount of illegal substances and firearms, as well as a substantial sum of money. The presence of four children at the day care during the police search led to additional charges related to endangering the welfare of a child. Both Christmas and Cooper are facing multiple charges, including possession of illegal substances with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of firearms, and endangerment of children. Following their arrest, the children present at the day care were handed over to their guardians. Christmas and Cooper are being held on bail while awaiting trial.
