Easter Egg Hunt Turns into Drug Bust in Alabama, Man Caught with Fentanyl Pills

An Alabama man has been apprehended for attempting to traffic illicit drugs concealed in Easter eggs, in lieu of the traditional holiday treats. The suspect, 29-year-old Jamarious Dequan Qualls, was stopped by agents from the Colbert County's drug task force on April 1 at approximately 11:45 a.m.

Upon conducting a search of Qualls' vehicle, law enforcement officials uncovered plastic Easter eggs, colored in orange and gold, containing a total of 176 fentanyl pills. Additionally, a plastic bag with 1oz of "spice," a synthetic form of cannabis, was found within the eggs.

Legal Actions Taken

Subsequently, Qualls was taken into custody and has since been charged with trafficking illegal drugs, as well as unlawful possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance. He is currently being held on a bond of $150,000.
