Extreme Heat and Humidity to Hit Central and Eastern U.S., Threatening Records

As meteorologists issue a warning of soaring temperatures and stifling humidity, the central and eastern United States are bracing for a bout of dangerous heat. The anticipated heatwave threatens to shatter previous records and dispel the prevailing fall-like conditions.

Impending Temperature Surges

Meteorologist David Roth, from the Weather Prediction Center, has cautioned that the Upper Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions will experience unseasonably high temperatures as the heat wave takes hold. The extreme conditions are poised to make parts of the country feel like a scorching 105 to 115 degrees Fahrenheit.
