
Fatal Shooting in the Bronx as Gunmen on Scooters Open Fire
One dead, three injured in Bronx shooting by men on scooters. Four suspects fled wearing masks. Authorities seeking other suspects.

On Tuesday, April 16 night, a tragic incident occurred at the intersection of Mount Eden and Townsend Ave in the Bronx, resulting in one fatality and three injuries. According to the police, four men were standing at the street corner when four individuals on scooters, with two riders on each, approached them. The rear passengers on the scooters then proceeded to open fire on the group, discharging a total of 10 rounds. Three of the men were shot in the leg, while one victim, a 29-year-old male, suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.
The ages of the victims ranged from 23 to 37 years old, and all were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, one of them succumbed to his injuries, while the others are receiving medical care for their gunshot wounds.
The Suspects
After the shooting, the suspects, who were reportedly wearing masks, fled the scene on their scooters heading northbound. Law enforcement authorities are actively searching for these individuals and have one male suspect in custody, although his connection to the incident remains uncertain at this time.
Following this grave incident, the police have announced that they will reinstate their community response teams, specifically tasked with addressing crimes involving dirt bikes, ATVs and illegal scooters. The aim is to intensify efforts in dealing with such incidents and preventing future occurrences.
