Fatal Train Collision Claims Three Lives in Western New York

On the evening of May 5, a tragic incident occurred in western New York as a northbound Amtrak Train 281 collided with a vehicle, resulting in the loss of three lives. The Amtrak spokesperson confirmed that the train, en route from New York to Niagara Falls, struck a vehicle that was obstructing the track.

Despite the efforts of firefighters and emergency responders, the three individuals in the vehicle were unable to be rescued in time and succumbed to their injuries at the accident scene in North Tonawanda, located in Niagara County near the Canadian border.
