On the early hours of Saturday, Queens, New York resident Romney Desronvil, 42, was arrested by authorities for allegedly trying to drown his children at a beach in Connecticut. The West Haven Police Department described the incident as a "heinous act" that took place shortly after 2:30 a.m., as reported in a press release.

A patrol officer patrolling the area heard "significant screaming" and spotted a parked SUV on the beach. Upon approaching the scene, the officer observed an adult male and two small children in the water. Members of the West Shore Fire Department also joined the rescue efforts and utilized a boat to assist in the operation. The children were successfully recovered and promptly taken to a local hospital for treatment.
