Finnish Tourist Missing in Utah's Mountains After Airport Pickup
Authorities in Utah are searching for a missing Finnish tourist, Onni Llmari Raassina, who was last seen near Moon Lake on March 5.

Authorities in Utah are actively searching for a missing tourist from Finland, 29-year-old Onni Llmari Raassina, who was last seen on March 5. The Duchesne County Sheriff's Office is appealing to the public for any information that could lead to his whereabouts.
According to Raassina's family, he arrived at the Salt Lake City International Airport on March 5 and was subsequently picked up from the airport. They believe he was dropped off in Duchesne County, near the Moon Lake area, which is approximately 150 miles east of Salt Lake City. However, the identity of the individual who picked him up and dropped him off remains unknown.
The Last Known Whereabouts
Authorities state that these were Raassina's last known whereabouts. They have confirmed that his cellphone pinged in the area, but there is no other trace or sign of him. Captain John Crowley of the DCSO told FOX 13, "We just know his cellphone pinged up here, and we have no sign of him."
Furthermore, based on airport security footage, it appears that Raassina did not possess the necessary equipment for hiking in the Uinta Mountains, as observed by officials.
Description and Family's Plea
Raassina is described as a 5-foot-8 White male with blue eyes and short strawberry blonde hair. His family traveled to Utah to search for him for two weeks, but their efforts have been unsuccessful. Captain Crowley emphasized the need for public assistance, stating, "I need the public's help immensely."
He added that this case is unusual, as it involves a tourist from Finland who arrived in Utah with no apparent plan or reason for his trip. Crowley remarked, "In 30 years of law enforcement, I've never had to deal with a gentleman who flew in from Finland to go hiking up there."
Investigation and Contact Information
The sheriff's office has released an image of Raassina and another image of him at the airport. They are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact them immediately.
Individuals with any relevant details are requested to reach out to the sheriff's office at 435-738-1126 or via email: jcrowley@duchesne.utah.gov.
