In a dramatic turn of events, a group of five individuals narrowly escaped a dangerous situation in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. The incident unfolded when the SUV they were traveling in veered off the road and plunged into an inactive geyser, creating a perilous scenario.

The passengers managed to extricate themselves from the scorching 105-degree Fahrenheit (41 degrees Celsius) water following the accident on Thursday morning. Despite sustaining non-life-threatening injuries, they were promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention, as confirmed by park spokesperson Morgan Warthin.

Recovery Operation

Efforts to retrieve the submerged SUV from a depth of 9 feet of water resulted in the closure of the road for approximately two hours on Friday. Park authorities, led by Warthin, successfully executed the operation to extract the vehicle, ensuring the safety of the area.

Location and Ongoing Investigation

The harrowing incident occurred near the Semi-Centennial Geyser, situated between Mammoth Hot Springs and Norris Junction. Notably, this geyser has remained inactive since a significant eruption in 1922. The identities of those involved have been withheld by park officials, who have disclosed that a thorough investigation into the matter is underway.
