Resignation and investigation results
As a result, Hernandez resigned from his position on Dec. 4, 2023, and the internal investigation found his use of force to be objectively unreasonable. Conversely, Sergeant Beth Roberts’ use of deadly force was deemed objectively reasonable, exonerating her from any wrongdoing.
