Former President Donald Trump's Remarks on Nuclear Weapons Raise National Security Concerns

The recent Fox News town hall featuring former President Donald Trump has stirred up controversy over his statements about nuclear weapons. In response to Fox News host Laura Ingraham's question about concerns for his safety, Trump's response has prompted concern among national security attorneys. He stated, “I worry about their safety too,” and went on to say, “Everybody in this room is in great danger right now. We have a nuclear weapon that if you hit New York, South Carolina is going to be gone too. I worry about their safety. I think it’s the reason I’m doing this.”
National security attorneys are expressing alarm at Trump's comments, raising questions about whether he may have disclosed classified information. Bradley Moss, a national security lawyer, questioned whether Trump may have revealed classified information about the destructive range of nuclear weapons during a Fox interview. Moss also criticized the media for not addressing "the former president potentially revealing classified information about our nuclear weapons arsenal on live TV."
Another attorney, Mark Zaid, took to social media to express his concerns, questioning whether Trump unlawfully disclosed classified information or made the statement to influence South Carolina residents. Zaid emphasized, “I'm not aware of any acknowledged nuclear weapon that has that type of impact radius.”
