Reason for Alert
Attal stated that the decision to raise the terror alert level was made in light of the Islamic States claiming responsibility for the Moscow attack and the threats weighing on our country
Alert System Details
Frances terror alert system consists of three levels with the highest level being activated in the aftermath of an attack in France or abroad or when there is considered to be an imminent threat This elevated level allows for exceptional security measures including intensified patrols by armed forces in public areas such as train stations airports and religious sites
This increase in the terror alert level comes just months before Paris is scheduled to host the Olympic Games
