Global Space Economy Booms to $613B, Driven by Commercial Sector

This surge in value is primarily driven by the commercial sector, which raked in $480 billion, representing over three-quarters of the entire space economy last year.

Commercial PNT (Positioning, Navigation, and Timing) services emerged as the frontrunner, generating a substantial $231.4 billion in revenue. This was followed closely by ground stations, direct-to-home TV, and satcom, each contributing significantly to the commercial space sector's success.

A Global Phenomenon

While the commercial sector dominates, government spending remains a crucial component of the space economy, accounting for the remaining 22%. The United States leads the pack with its civil space budget, surpassing all other nations. China, Europe, and Japan follow suit, showcasing a global commitment to space exploration and technological advancement.
