His death was confirmed by Paul Almond, a legal representative for Mr. Wily. The details regarding the location and cause of his death have not been immediately disclosed.

Wily's portrayal of Kamekona spanned over 170 episodes, where his character evolved from a shrimp truck vendor and police informant to a prominent entrepreneur, managing businesses such as a shaved ice enterprise and a helicopter tour company alongside his shrimp venture.
Masi Oka, who co-starred as Dr. Max Bergman, expressed in a 2012 interview with CBS his belief that the show could have been aptly renamed “Kamekona Five-0,” signifying the impact and popularity of Wily's character.
