Hezbollah's Cross-Border Fire Could Lead to Escalation, Israeli Military Warns

Hezbollah's increased aggression risks wider escalation, warns Israeli military. Heavy exchanges with Lebanon prompt air strikes, as US and France seek resolution.

The Israeli military has issued a warning that intensified cross-border fire from Lebanon's Hezbollah movement into Israel could lead to a serious escalation. Israeli military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari expressed concerns about Hezbollah's increasing aggression, stating that it could have devastating consequences for Lebanon and the entire region.

Hezbollah, backed by Iran, recently launched the largest volleys of rockets and drones in the past eight months, amid ongoing exchanges with the Israeli military. The exchanges have coincided with the Gaza war and have raised tensions in the region. In response to the heightened attacks, the Israeli military conducted several air strikes against Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon.

International Efforts for Resolution

The United States and France are actively engaged in seeking a negotiated settlement to ease hostilities along Lebanon's southern border. Meanwhile, Hezbollah has insisted that it will continue its fire unless Israel ceases its military offensive on Gaza.

Rear Admiral Hagari emphasized that Israel is committed to taking necessary measures to protect its civilians until security along the border with Lebanon is restored.
