An anti-Israel protest in New York featured support for Hezbollah amidst ongoing tensions following Hamas attacks and Israel's military response in the region.
On Tuesday, an anti-Israel rally took place in New York City, coinciding with the convening of world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly in Manhattan. Footage from the event revealed a masked and hooded protester holding a sign that read, "New York for Hezbollah", accompanied by two red hearts drawn next to the words. The protester was also seen waving a Hezbollah flag, emphasizing the demonstration's support for the terror group.

The rally featured a chorus of chants from the protesters, with phrases like, "From Palestine to Lebanon, mobilize the intifada," resonating through the streets. Various signs and banners displayed messages such as, "Hands off Lebanon," "No Votes for Genocide," and "Free Palestine," reflecting the diverse sentiments expressed by the participants.
Ongoing Protests
The anti-Israel protests have persisted in the United States for several months, igniting in response to the tragic events on October 7, when Hamas launched an attack that resulted in the loss of nearly 1,200 lives in southern Israel. Subsequently, Israel initiated a military campaign aimed at thwarting Hamas in Gaza, leading to heightened tensions in the region.
Targeted Airstrikes in Lebanon
In light of the evolving situation, Israel has also intensified its military operations against the Hezbollah terror group in Lebanon, successfully eliminating some of the organization's key commanders. These actions have been part of Israel's broader strategy to counter the threat posed by both Hamas and Hezbollah, which are widely regarded as Iranian proxies.
Amid these developments, in an effort to disrupt Hezbollah's operations, Israel has conducted five targeted airstrikes in Beirut, Lebanon's capital, since the onset of the Israel-Hamas War. Of these, three airstrikes have occurred within the past week alone, underscoring the urgency of Israel's military campaign.
