The House Oversight and Accountability Committee's Chairman is moving forward with plans to issue a subpoena to U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle for her testimony regarding the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Chairman James Comer, a Kentucky Republican, revealed that Cheatle is expected to testify before the committee on July 22 as part of an oversight hearing. Scrutiny on Secret Service Leadership

Following the assassination attempt on former President Trump, which resulted in injuries to the ex-president and the tragic death of a firefighter, as well as injuries to two others, the leadership of the Secret Service, particularly Director Kimberly Cheatle, has come under intense scrutiny.
