House Republican Subpoenas Minnesota Gov. Walz Over Pandemic-Era $250M Fraud Scheme

Representative Virginia Foxx (R-NC), chair of the Education and the Workforce Committee, has subpoenaed Minnesota's Governor Tim Walz over a $250 million fraud scheme involving a nonprofit's misuse of a pandemic program for feeding hungry children. 

Subpoena and Accusations

The Governor is being asked to provide evidence of his role in addressing the fraud's impact on taxpayer funds. The Minnesota Education Department has been cooperating with the committee, while the U.S. Department of Agriculture allegedly ignored fraud warnings during the Trump administration. This marks a shift in House Republicans' focus from President Biden to the new Democratic ticket. The fraud involves the abuse of taxpayer dollars intended for hungry children.
