Other Storms and The 2024 Hurricane Season

In addition to Hurricane Gilma, the National Hurricane Center is monitoring other storms, including one with a 90% chance of forming northwest of Gilma and another with a 50% chance of forming southeast of Gilma. The 2024 hurricane season is predicted to be highly active, with 17 to 24 named storms expected in the Atlantic, eight to thirteen of which could become hurricanes and four to seven could become major hurricanes. The season runs from June 1 to November 30.
