Jill Biden, the first lady, addressed Michigan Democrats in an effort to instill confidence in her husband's ability to secure a second term in the White House. Despite concerns stemming from a lackluster debate performance, she assured the audience that Joe Biden remained the strongest candidate to defeat Donald Trump in the upcoming election.

However, not all attendees were entirely convinced of Joe Biden's prospects. Inside and outside the campaign office in Traverse City, some Democrats expressed apprehensions about the president's age and the possibility of a November defeat. Reba Leiding, 74, who was present at the event, shared her concerns, stating that she was "sick with worry" and feared that Biden's candidacy might not resonate with all voters.
