Kamala Harris prepares for debate against Trump

On September 4th, Vice President Kamala Harris took a brief hiatus from her campaign activities to participate in a simulated presidential debate at Howard University, located in Washington, D.C. This mock debate aimed to fine-tune her strategies against former President Donald J. Trump ahead of their anticipated debate on September 10th.

To enhance her preparedness for the imminent debate, Ms. Harris has been collaborating with a select group of advisers, some of whom have been associated with her since her pre-vice presidential days. These preparations, which involve multiple mock debates, have not been disclosed publicly, as confirmed by three individuals familiar with the plans, who chose to remain anonymous.

Key Figures in Debate Preparations

The debate preparation team includes Rohini Kosoglu, a former policy director who previously served as Ms. Harris's chief of staff in the Senate and later departed from the vice president's office in 2022. Additionally, Karen Dunn, an attorney who played a pivotal role in readying Ms. Harris for her 2020 vice-presidential debate, is also providing assistance.
