Former Representative Liz Cheney of Wyoming, a prominent member of the anti-Trump faction within the Republican Party who has publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, delivered pointed criticism against fellow Republicans this past Sunday, accusing them of being excessively loyal to former President Donald J. Trump.

Ms. Cheney expressed her discontent in an interview with ABC News, revealing that, despite never having cast a vote in favor of a Democrat before, she felt compelled to support Ms. Harris due to her belief that electing Mr. Trump would lead to an "unrecoverable catastrophe" for the nation. The former congresswoman did not hesitate to condemn Republicans who continue to stand by Mr. Trump, singling out Nikki Haley, who, despite having opposed him during the Republican primaries, has since offered her support. The criticism did not spare Mr. Trump's running mate, Senator JD Vance of Ohio, with Ms. Cheney contrasting him unfavorably with former Vice President Mike Pence. She expressed strong disapproval of Mr. Vance's alleged willingness to prioritize Donald Trump's directives over constitutional principles, perceiving it as a grave danger posed by a president and vice president who would place themselves above the Constitution.
