Two Kansas women missing after drive to Oklahoma, accused Oklahoma woman gets life in prison for killing son and daughter.

An Oklahoma woman has been sentenced to life in prison for the brutal murder of her 18-year-old son and 16-year-old daughter. The judge ruled on Monday that Amy Leann Hall will spend the rest of her life behind bars.
The tragic incident occurred on November 1, 2018, when Hall entered her children's rooms while they were sleeping. She fatally shot her 18-year-old son, Kayson Toliver, in the head, and then proceeded to shoot her 16-year-old daughter, Kloee Toliver, as well as her 14-year-old daughter. While the 14-year-old managed to survive, Kloee succumbed to her injuries four days later at the hospital.
Arrest and Sentencing
After carrying out the heinous act, Hall attempted to flee the scene in a vehicle and engaged in a high-speed car chase with the police. Subsequently, she was apprehended by law enforcement officers and taken into custody. On Monday, District Judge Ronald A. White ordered her to serve two life sentences in a federal penitentiary for the murders of her son and daughter. Additionally, she was handed an extra 20-year sentence for the attempted murder of her surviving daughter.
Abuse Allegations and Mental State
Hall claimed that her actions were driven by a desire to "save" her children from their abusive father. She also expressed an intention to end her own life. Court records revealed that Hall and the children's father had been engaged in a bitter custody battle following their separation. Allegations of mental instability and psychological abuse were brought against Hall by the children's father. The family had a history of domestic disturbances, with previous police responses to the home for domestic calls.
Kayson Toliver, the eldest victim, was a standout running back on the Beggs High School Golden Demons football team. He had also earned recognition as a National Honor Society student. The devastating loss of these young lives has left an indelible impact on the community.
Statement from U.S. Attorney
U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Christopher J. Wilson, emphasized the unimaginable nature of the violence inflicted on the family. He stated, "The horrific violence visited upon this family was unimaginable, and nothing will ever make things right. Nevertheless, justice requires a careful consideration of all facts, including the interests of the surviving victim."
It is evident that this tragic incident has left a lasting scar on the community, and the sentence handed down to Amy Leann Hall serves as a solemn reminder of the consequences of such reprehensible actions.
