Mexican Navy seizes more than 7 tons of suspected cocaine in the Pacific Ocean

In a sweeping operation in the Pacific Ocean, Mexican authorities apprehended over seven tons of suspected cocaine across two separate raids, as confirmed by the nation's navy. Significant Drug Seizures and Arrests

The first operation, bolstered by footage from a Panther helicopter provided by the navy, witnessed a swift boat chase southwest of the city of Manzanillo. Naval officers aboard a patrol vessel successfully intercepted three speedboats. As detailed in a news release on Friday, authorities seized 126 packages containing 5.6 tons of suspected cocaine in what has been labeled the most substantial drug seizure during the current administration. The swift action led to the arrest of 15 suspects, and over 1,000 liters of fuel were confiscated in connection with the operation.

The second operation involved naval patrol boats and a helicopter retrieving 32 floating packages, which, upon inspection, were confirmed to contain about 1.6 tons of suspected cocaine. In addition to this discovery, a small speedboat equipped with three outboard motors was also confiscated. This particular raid took place near the coastal city of Lazaro Cardenas in the Michoacan state, an area known for its history of cartel violence.
