Midwife Fined for Falsifying Vaccine Records

A midwife in New York has been fined $300,000 for falsifying vaccine records for approximately 1,500 children. Instead of administering required vaccinations, the midwife provided homeopathic pellets and then fabricated the children's immunization records. This scheme, which took place over the 2019-2020 school year, affected families across the state, particularly those residing in suburban Long Island. As a result, the immunization records for these children have been invalidated, and their families must now provide proof of updated vaccinations or ongoing vaccination processes before the children can return to school. The midwife, Jeanette Breen, had provided the "Real Immunity Homeoprophylaxis Program," an unapproved alternative to vaccinations, to her patients. She administered approximately 12,449 fake immunizations before falsely reporting the children as vaccinated against various diseases. State health officials emphasized that such falsification endangers public health and undermines trust in the system. In response, Breen has paid $150,000 of the $300,000 penalty and has agreed to comply with state health laws. She is also permanently barred from accessing the state's immunization records system. The health department is now notifying affected school districts and has declared its commitment to combatting vaccination fraud.
