
Missing Hiker's Body Found at Base of Waterfall in California Wilderness

One unfortunate incident has shaken the Northern California community, as the lifeless body of Caroline Meister, a 30-year-old experienced hiker, was discovered at the base of a waterfall on Friday morning, March 22nd. The Monterey County Sheriff's Office confirmed this unsettling news during a press conference.
Disappearance and Search Efforts
Meister was reported missing on Monday, March 18, after she failed to return from her hike at the Tassajara Zen Mountain Center. Despite being well-versed in hiking, she was not prepared for an overnight stay, carrying only snacks for the day. As rescue teams scoured the area, it was revealed that she had mentioned the "Windcave Trail" and intended to complete a loop leading back to the Zen Mountain Center.
Search Efforts and Physical Description
The search and rescue teams, including the Monterey County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team, Drone Team, and a California Highway Patrol Helicopter, tirelessly combed through the wilderness to locate Meister. Described as a 5 feet 6-inch tall, 150-pound white adult female with long brown hair, she was last seen wearing teal boots and carrying a blue bag.
Cause of Death
While foul play is not suspected, the coroner is yet to officially confirm the cause of Meister's death. However, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office indicated that her injuries were "consistent" with a fall from a height, shedding light on the potential circumstance of her tragic demise.
