Mother and Daughter Survive Missile Attack at Ukraine's Largest Children's Hospital

Daryna Vertetska, 33, and her 8-year-old daughter Kira were at Ukraine's largest children's hospital on Monday morning. Russian missiles could be heard in the sky while Kira was undergoing cancer treatment. Despite the explosions in the capital, Kyiv, Daryna chose not to interrupt her daughter's treatment.

Tragically, as Kira was receiving treatment, a missile struck the Ohmatdyt Children’s Hospital, causing a deafening explosion. Shards of glass wounded Kira as she was gripped with fear. Daryna, bloodied but unharmed, managed to lead her daughter to safety through the smoke and dust.
