Mother arrested after bodies of two children found in Pueblo, Colorado

The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) made a significant breakthrough in a case involving the tragic deaths of two children in Pueblo, Colorado. The woman at the center of the investigation has been arrested after the bodies of the two children were identified – one found encased in concrete in a Pueblo storage unit and another found in a suitcase in the trunk of a scrapped car.

Discovery of the first body

The investigation began in January when the Pueblo Police Department (PPD) discovered the body of a child encased in concrete in a storage unit on West 6th Street. The discovery prompted a search for Jesus Dominguez Jr. and Yesenia Dominguez, two children who were last seen in 2018.

As part of the investigation, 35-year-old Jesus Dominguez and 36-year-old Corena Rose Minjarez were identified as persons of interest and were interviewed by the PPD. This lead to the possibility that the children might be in the Phoenix, Arizona area, although this lead proved to be unfruitful.

Discovery of the second body

During the course of the investigation, a car belonging to Minjarez was found at a local scrap yard. Subsequently, a search warrant was executed, and a suitcase containing the remains of a boy was found in the trunk of the car.

Confirmation of identities and arrest warrant

On February 15, the PPD received DNA confirmation that the remains found in the storage unit belonged to Yesenia Dominguez and the remains found in the suitcase belonged to Jesus Dominguez Jr. Based on this evidence, an arrest warrant was issued for Minjarez and Jesus Dominguez on two counts of First Degree Murder and two counts of Abuse of a Corpse. Jesus Dominguez faced an additional charge of Theft of Government Benefits.

Following the issuance of the warrant, Minjarez was arrested and is currently being held at the Pueblo County Detention Center on a $2 million bond.

However, Jesus Dominguez remains at large, and the PPD has appealed to the public for any information regarding his whereabouts.
