Mother of 5-Year-Old Found in Suitcase in Indiana Held Without Bond for Murder
Dejaune Anderson, 38, held without bond for the murder of her son found in a suitcase. Claimed federal surveillance before capture. Second woman sentenced.

In a shocking turn of events, Dejaune Anderson, 38, the mother of 5-year-old Cairo Ammar Jordan, whose body was found in a suitcase in 2022, was ordered to be held without bond on Tuesday. Anderson faces charges of murder, neglect and obstruction of justice in this heartbreaking case.
Unusual Claims and Court Appearance
During her initial court appearance, Anderson made unusual claims, stating that she had been under federal surveillance for several months before her capture. She even mentioned having a detail from Space Force that was following her every move. Despite her assertions, she was ordered to be held without bond by the Washington County Circuit Judge Larry Medlock.
When asked to identify herself, Anderson initially used another name beginning with "Princess," and stated that she was "representing the entity" of Anderson. Although she requested to represent herself, the judge decided to assign someone from the public defender’s office to represent her.
Legal Proceedings and Autopsy Results
Anderson is set to return to court on April 25, with a tentative trial date scheduled for August. The autopsy revealed that Cairo died from vomiting and diarrhea, which led to dehydration. Investigators determined that the boy had passed away about a week or less before the body was discovered by a mushroom hunter in a wooded area, approximately 35 miles northwest of Louisville, Kentucky.
Developments in the Case
Another woman, Dawn Coleman, 41, from Shreveport, Louisiana, had also been charged in connection with the case. In November, Coleman reached a plea deal with prosecutors and was subsequently sentenced to 30 years in prison, with five years suspended to probation. Her charges included aiding, inducing, or causing murder, neglect of a dependent resulting in death, and obstruction of justice.
