The attempted robbery quickly escalated, culminating in a harrowing police chase that ultimately led to the arrest of the three suspected perpetrators.

Patricia McKay and her husband were targeted by two male suspects outside the Barnes & Noble store at approximately 3:30 p.m. One of the assailants brandished a gun, initiating a confrontation. As the situation unfolded, gunshots were fired, but thankfully, no one was struck. However, the confrontation took a fatal turn as the suspects forcibly dragged Patricia McKay into the parking lot, where she was fatally run over by a third suspect driving a white Toyota Camry.

Police Pursuit and Suspect Arrests

Following the fatal incident, the three suspects fled the scene in the Camry, sparking a police chase that extended northbound to the Los Angeles area. Aerial footage from Fox 11 Los Angeles captured the pursuit, showing one suspect fleeing into a residential neighborhood in the South Gate area before being apprehended by law enforcement officers.

The other two suspects continued driving the Camry into Los Angeles County, ultimately abandoning the vehicle and subsequently being picked up by the police. The swift and coordinated response from law enforcement led to the arrest of all three suspects.
