Northern Gaza Families Defy Israeli Calls to Flee Despite Constant Threat of Bombardment
Fleeing from bombardments, Amani Zanin's family stayed in Gaza City despite warnings, as earlier escape routes were risky.

After nine months of war and constant fleeing from place to place to escape Israeli bombardments in northern Gaza, many families, including Amani Zanin's, have chosen not to heed the Israeli military's calls to clear out of Gaza City. Despite repeated warnings and the offer of "safe corridors" to central Gaza, the Zanin family and others have decided that the road is too unsafe to travel.
Seeking Shelter
Currently, the Zanin family is sheltering in a school building, exhausted by the ceaseless threat of bombardment and surrounded by the grim realities of death and destruction in their community.
Amid earlier warnings to flee, families in the northern Gaza Strip have now taken the risk of staying put, refusing to leave their homes despite the dangers.
It is clear that despite the offers of "safe corridors," the fear of traveling has surpassed the hope of finding safety elsewhere, leaving families like the Zanins to endure the uncertainty within their current surroundings.
