Philadelphia Escapee Alleem Bordan Arrested in Western Pennsylvania After Hospital Fleeing

Alleem Bordan, the man who escaped police custody while in handcuffs outside a hospital near Philadelphia, has been apprehended in western Pennsylvania. Authorities reported that Bordan, 29, was taken into custody at 2 p.m. on Thursday at a home in Johnstown in Cambria County, over 200 miles from Temple University Episcopal Hospital in Kensington.

Extradition Back to Philadelphia

Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Ryan Clark stated that Bordan was being held in the county jail in Cambria County, and plans are in place to have him extradited back to Philadelphia. Bordan is also facing accusations of car theft during his escape.

Escape from Police Custody

The Philadelphia Police Department reported that Bordan was last seen on Monday when he fled from police custody at the hospital. He was being escorted by two police officers with his hands restrained behind him to a vehicle parked outside Temple University Hospital’s Episcopal Campus.

Surveillance Video

In surveillance video obtained by FOX29 Philadelphia, Bordan can be seen sprinting through a gas station's parking lot right after escaping from police officers on Monday.

Previous Encounters with Law Enforcement

Federal authorities were called on Tuesday to assist in his capture. He was located at an address in northwest Philadelphia known to frequent, where he managed to elude capture again after a subsequent pursuit.

Arrest in Western Pennsylvania

Bordan, known to have a "previous criminal history" in Cambria County, was arrested on Sunday after being found asleep in a car reported stolen on Thursday. Authorities mentioned that the owner was making a food delivery at the time.

Medical Attention

Authorities further added that Bordan complained about pain and was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
