
Philadelphia police investigate officer-involved shootout captured on social media

Philadelphia authorities are currently examining a video circulated on social media as part of their inquiry into a shooting at a store that resulted in an officer's injury and the fatal shooting of the perpetrator by another officer.
Key Details of the Incident
The incident occurred in the city’s Fairhill section, where two officers approached a group of men at a store, and after attempting to stop one of them, a scuffle ensued with Alexander Spencer. Subsequently, Spencer shot one of the officers in the thigh, and in response, the other officer discharged their weapon. However, it is yet to be confirmed from the video who fired first.
Officers' Identities and Motive
The names of the officers involved have not been disclosed, but it is known that one has been on the force for nine years and the other for five. The motive behind the officers' attempt to stop Spencer and the events leading to the confrontation have not been revealed by authorities.
Suspect at Large
Additionally, Jose Quinones-Mendez, who fled the store with the gun used to wound the officer, is being pursued by law enforcement. He faces charges of obstruction of justice and tampering with evidence and is considered to be armed and dangerous.
