President Biden Signs $15 Billion Military Aid Package for Israel

On Wednesday, April 24, Israel expressed deep gratitude for the U.S. aid package signed by President Biden, which marks a significant increase in military aid to Israel. The aid amounts to approximately $15 billion and underscores the unwavering support from the United States, despite recent tensions over Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip.

Israel's Foreign Minister, Israel Katz, reaffirmed the strength of the alliance between the two countries, stating, "Our alliance is ironclad." This statement came in response to the signing of the legislation by President Biden, signifying a key milestone in the bilateral relationship.

Allocation of Aid

The aid package encompasses a substantial allocation, including over $5 billion to replenish three of Israel's vital defense systems. These systems consist of Iron Dome, designed to intercept rockets flying in high arcs; David's Sling, which effectively neutralizes drones, missiles, and rockets; and Iron Beam, utilizing cutting-edge laser technology to eliminate incoming projectiles.

In addition, the aid includes $1 billion earmarked for the advancement of artillery and munitions production and development. Furthermore, $2.4 billion is allocated for American military operations in the U.S. Central Command region, encompassing the Middle East, South Asia, and East Africa.
