Prince Harry Surprises with Visit to Ukraine's Superhumans Centre for Wounded Soldiers

The Duke of Sussex Prince Harry made an unexpected trip to Ukraine on Thursday to visit the Superhumans Centre, a rehabilitation clinic for wounded soldiers in the city of Lviv.

Prince Harry, who served in the British Army for a decade, toured the facility and interacted with both patients and medical professionals. The Superhumans Centre is dedicated to treating and rehabilitating military personnel injured in the ongoing conflict with Russia, which has persisted since February 2022. The clinic offers essential services such as prosthetics, reconstructive surgery, and psychological support, all provided free of charge.

Collaboration with Invictus Games Foundation

Accompanying the Duke of Sussex was the Invictus Games Foundation, a charity he established in 2014 to assist wounded veterans through sports competitions. Rob Owen, the CEO of the Invictus Games Foundation, emphasized the importance of Ukraine to the charity's mission, stating, "This visit reaffirms our dedication to standing with those who are navigating life after injury."

Unannounced Visit and Meeting with Officials

The visit to Ukraine was kept under wraps until after Prince Harry had departed from the country. During his time there, he also had the opportunity to meet with Ukraine's veteran affairs minister, Natalia Kalmykova. The surprise trip underscored the Duke's commitment to supporting those affected by the ongoing conflict.

Prior to his visit to Ukraine, Prince Harry made an appearance at London's Royal Court of Justice, where he was involved in a case concerning changes to his personal security in the UK after stepping back from royal duties in 2020.

The visit to the Superhumans Centre highlights Prince Harry's continued dedication to advocating for and supporting wounded veterans, both in the UK and abroad. His engagement with the Invictus Games Foundation further underscores his commitment to promoting the welfare of those who have served in the armed forces.
