Prince Harry to Return to the UK for Invictus Games Anniversary in London
Prince Harry to attend Invictus Games anniversary service in London, marking 10 years of the event's impact on veterans' lives.

Prince Harry is set to make his first trip back to the United Kingdom since visiting his father, King Charles III, following the public announcement of the king's cancer diagnosis earlier this year. The prince, in collaboration with the Invictus Games Foundation, revealed on Sunday that he will be attending the thanksgiving service commemorating the 10th anniversary of the foundation in London on May 8.
During the thanksgiving service at St. Paul's Cathedral, Prince Harry will deliver a reading, while actor Damian Lewis is slated to recite a poem. This momentous occasion will mark a decade of transforming lives and preserving lives through the power of sports, as stated by a representative of the Invictus Games Foundation. It remains uncertain whether Harry's wife, Meghan Markle, will accompany him on this trip from California, where the couple resides with their two children.
The Origin of the Invictus Games
The Invictus Games, a sporting event designed for military personnel injured in action, was first established by Prince Harry in 2014, with the inaugural event held in London.
Two days after the announcement of the prince's upcoming visit to London, Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles III will soon resume his public duties. The palace reported that the king has made significant progress in his cancer treatment, and medical professionals are optimistic about his recovery.
Previous Visit to Clarence House
In February, Harry made a brief visit to his father's residence at Clarence House in central London, the day after news of the king's diagnosis came to light. Prior to departing the U.S., Harry had a conversation with his father about the cancer diagnosis, as confirmed by Buckingham Palace. The king personally informed his sons, Harry and William, the Prince of Wales, as well as his siblings, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward, about his health condition.
Aside from the king's health diagnosis, troubling news emerged about the health of the family. Approximately a month after disclosing his cancer treatment, the Princess of Wales, also known as Kate Middleton, announced that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy following abdominal surgery in January. Following Kate's health revelation, Harry and Meghan expressed their well wishes for her recovery and reached out to her privately, as reported by People magazine.
