Russia Plans Military Response to US Missile Deployment in Germany
Russia to respond with military measures to US plan of longer-range missiles in Germany, deeming it detrimental to regional safety.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei A. Ryabkov announced that Russia is making preparations for military countermeasures in light of the planned deployment of longer-range, ground-based missiles by the United States in Germany. Ryabkov emphasized that the U.S.'s intended move poses a significant threat to regional safety and strategic stability.
Anticipated Decision and Preparations
Ryabkov, speaking to Interfax, a prominent Russian news agency, stated, "Without nerves, without emotions, we will develop a military response, first of all, to this new game." He further explained that Moscow had foreseen the decision and had already commenced the process of preparing "compensating countermeasures" in advance of the U.S. action.
New Developments in Deployment
According to a joint statement released by the United States and Germany, Washington is set to initiate "episodic deployments" of the missiles in Germany beginning in 2026. The statement also noted that the deployed missiles would include those with "significantly longer range" capabilities than those currently operational throughout Europe.
