Senator Marco Rubio Refuses to Commit to Accepting 2024 Election Results
Senator Marco Rubio of Florida refused to commit to accepting the 2024 presidential election results, echoing conspiracy theories and raising doubts.

During an interview on NBC News’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday, May 19, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida declined to commit to accepting the results of the 2024 presidential election. When asked if he would accept the outcome, Mr. Rubio responded by expressing his concern about the possibility of an unfair election, stating that such a scenario would likely lead to a contested outcome by both sides.
Furthermore, Senator Rubio reiterated conspiracy theories about the 2020 election, deflecting follow-up questions and making false claims about previous election results. He referenced Hillary Clinton's concession in 2016 and a small group of Democrats objecting to certifying George W. Bush’s victory in Ohio in 2004, despite the fact that Mrs. Clinton conceded and the objections in 2004 were not endorsed by Mr. Kerry or his campaign.
Contradictory Statements
The interviewer, Kristen Welker, pointed out that Mr. Rubio had previously voted to certify the 2020 results, emphasizing the importance of people's confidence in the election and their willingness to abide by its results. She then questioned how he reconciled those comments with former President Trump's refusal to admit his loss, including recent false claims about winning Minnesota.
Senator Rubio's remarks have drawn attention and raised concerns about the potential implications for future elections and the integrity of the democratic process.
